La Promesa

La Promesa is an artisanal mezcal from Oaxaca that redefines how Mexican heritage is represented in the premium spirits market. Most mezcal brands rely on loud illustrations and repetitive folklore motifs that feel performative rather than authentic. My goal was to create an identity that honors tradition through refinement and restraint — one that speaks with confidence instead of clichés. Inspired by rótulos, the traditional hand-painted signage of Mexico, I translated their expressive character into a sophisticated typographic logo that celebrates craftsmanship without exaggeration. The result is a brand that feels both rooted and elevated — a quiet promise of quality and authenticity.
